Booking a Willow & Crafts Workshop
Thank you for your interest in my willow workshops.
My workshops are an opportunity to explore willow as a natural material, learn through making and develop your own response to the project. I provide practical guidance throughout, while encouraging you to experiment with shape, form and detail.
Workshops take place at different venues across Hampshire and the surrounding area, so please check the individual workshop listing carefully for the date, time and location.
Before you book
Please read the information below before booking.
Individual workshop listings will include the specific details for that workshop, including:
date and time
venue and location
price
what you will be making
what to bring
any particular physical requirements
whether the workshop is suitable for beginners
Places are limited so that I can provide everyone with appropriate support.
Booking and payment
Workshops can be booked through the Willow & Crafts website.
Payment options available may include online payment, bank transfer, cheque or Willow & Crafts gift voucher, depending on the workshop.
Your place is confirmed once payment has been received.
If you are booking more than one place, please make sure that you provide the correct contact details for the person making the booking.
If you are booking on behalf of someone else, please make sure they are aware of the information on this page, particularly the physical requirements and cancellation arrangements.
What to expect
My workshops are practical, hands-on sessions. I will demonstrate and explain techniques and provide guidance as you work, but there isn't one single way of making your piece. I will encourage you to observe, interpret and create, and to develop your own response to the project.
You don't need previous willow-weaving experience unless this is specifically stated in the workshop description.
Workshops are generally friendly group sessions. Depending on the venue and the number of participants, they can be busy and sometimes noisy.
As we are working in a space with others, if you prefer to work without distraction or are unsure whether a group workshop will suit you, please contact me before booking.
Physical requirements
Working with willow requires a degree of hand strength and dexterity. You will be bending, twisting, pulling and manipulating willow throughout the workshop.
Some projects may also involve standing, bending or working at floor level for periods of time.
If you have any accessibility requirements or anything that may affect your ability to take part safely, please contact me before booking so we can discuss whether the workshop is suitable and whether any reasonable adjustments can be made.
Tools and materials
Relevant materials needed for the project are provided unless the individual workshop description says otherwise.
Tools are available for use during the workshop; you are welcome to bring your own if you wish to.
Please follow the safety instructions given during the session and ask if you are unsure how to use a tool or carry out a particular technique.
Individual workshop listings will tell you if you need to bring anything with you.
Willow preparation
Willow needs to be prepared some time in advance before it can be used so I will need to know the number of people attending in advance so that I can prepare enough materials. If a workshop requires this, the booking information will state the deadline for booking, usually this at least one week before
Refreshments
Where refreshments are provided, this will be stated in the individual workshop listing. If you have any food allergies or dietary requirements, please let me know in advance.
Changing or cancelling your booking
I understand that plans can change.

If you are unable to attend,
Please let me know as soon as possible. You may be able to arrange for another person to attend in your place. Please contact me in advance so that I have the correct details for the person attending.
Any replacement participant must be able to take part safely and meet the requirements of the workshop. I will need to know their contact details in advance of the workshop. Please note that I do not accept resales
If Willow & Crafts or the Venue Has to Cancel
Occasionally, a workshop may need to be cancelled or postponed because of circumstances outside my reasonable control. This could include serious illness, an emergency, flooding, severe weather, the venue becoming unavailable or having to close, or other unforeseen circumstances.
If this happens, I will contact you as soon as possible.
Where possible, I will offer an alternative date or the opportunity to transfer your booking to another suitable Willow & Crafts workshop.
If the workshop cannot be rearranged, or the alternative is not suitable, you will be offered a full refund of your booking.
If the workshop is cancelled by the venue or by Willow & Crafts, you will not be charged any cancellation fee.
Please note that Willow & Crafts cannot be responsible for additional costs you may have incurred in connection with attending the workshop, such as travel or accommodation.
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers can be used to book eligible Willow & Crafts workshops.
Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
If you book a workshop using a gift voucher and subsequently need to change your booking, please see the Workshop Cancellation and Refund Policy for the available options.
Keeping in touch
I will use the contact details provided when you book to communicate with you about your workshop. I will contact you one week before it is due to take place with joining. Please check your spam. If you still havent received a message, please contact me
In an emergency, I may need to contact you with important information about the venue, timings, materials or any changes to the workshop. , Please ensure that I have the correct information to do so.
