Weave a willow mushroom in the New Forest (25th October)

Create a cool willow mushroom or toadstool however you like! You can make the stem as thin and delicate or as thick and sturdy as you want. And for the cap, go ahead and choose a small and cute version or a big, eye-catching one.

When you’re putting it together, you can stick with a classic basket weaving technique, which gives it that timeless vibe while showcasing the natural beauty of the willow. Or, if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, try a freeform or random weaving style. This way, you can play around with the shape of the cap and make something totally unique. Enjoy getting creative!

You will need to bring your own lunch and a bucket.

Please read You will need good hand dexterity for working with willow we will also  be standing quite a lot and this is quite a physical activity.

As we all work at different speeds sometimes students take more time than others and prefer to take home materials to carry on at home which is fine
