Nature’s Basket: Interlaced Willow Weaving workshop , Eastleigh Hampshire June 27th

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll be introduced to the playful and intuitive process of making an interlaced random weave basket using willow. This style of weaving is perfect for beginners, as it encourages creativity and experimentation rather than following strict patterns—each basket becomes beautifully unique.

We’ll start by choosing and preparing the willow, then gently guide you through the basic techniques needed to build shape and strength using an interlaced random weave.

From there, you’ll weave at your own pace, allowing the basket to grow naturally in your hands. There will be plenty of time to ask questions, explore ideas

No previous experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.

Working with willow can be tiring on the hands and can be difficult if you find it hard to pull or use fine movements with your fingers, twisting movements, etc. Some of the activities are kinder than others, so if you are not sure, please get in touch with me for a chat.
